As we previously noted, the garage and folk hybrid Thee Oh Sees are well worth a listen. We expect they converted a lot of fans during their two day stint with Blonde Redhead this week -- in our opinion, the live show outdoes the album.
With Meth Teeth, Ty Segall and The Fresh & Onlys rounding out the bill, this is definitely the Thursday move for the non-electro inclined.
With two dates at The Independent, there is no reason to miss the amazing Blonde Redhead w/ the previously highlighted Thee Oh Sees. If you are not familiar with Blonde Redhead, we envy you -- you got an unusually solid discography to brush up on before next week's shows.
Tickets are a little steep at $25 + TM fees, but remember that you can always save some dough by buying them directly from The Independent box office. Be sure to get tickets soon, as both dates are sure to sell out. Officially sold out :(
The Independent has local favorites Thee Oh Sees, who recently received a well-deserved favorable Pitchfork review. If unfamiliar, Thee Oh Sees make sweet garage/folk tinged rock and are well worth a listen.
Jay Reatard – who has one of the more daunting discographies in 'the scene' – will be headlining the night.
